I was recommended to North End Wrench by multiple friends, and I will definitely recommend them to others in the future. They were accommodating to all of my requests, and got my alignment to the exact specs I wanted on a freshly redone suspension within a few hours. Did a great job explaining everything to me afterwards, and even paintmarked a few things for me to keep an eye on. An old school shop that's one of few remaining in town that I'd trust with a nice car for a fair price.

I had a pretty poor experience in just about every way at Northend wrench. I strongly do not recommend them. I have used Northend wrench in the past for alignment work since they seemed knowledgeable and are willing to work on modified cars and aftermarket parts. I use my car for occasional track days but it is a daily driver for a light commute to work. My young son also rides with me to daycare in the car. I recently bought a fully solid arm suspension set, sway bar endlinks, and control arms from SPL. I decided to use them for the install and alignment since they had done 'okay' work for me in the past. This was a mistake. They scheduled me 2 months out to do the work, which is fine if the work is of good quality. I dropped my car off the night before the scheduled date on the weekend so they could start early. They were inside working on personal projects, but did not acknowledge me as I dropped the key off in the lockbox. They didn't start my car until the following day until late afternoon. I know this because I had to call to verify the work as they did not reach out to me. They had my car for four days...these are bolt on suspension parts. When I did speak to them briefly on the third day they told me they had to look up the instructions on the internet... I said thats fine so long as the install is correct. My only request when I spoke with them was to have the car setup in the less aggressive 'street' alignment. Again this is my daily car. I had to take an Uber to pick my car up and when I arrived the mechanics were eating lunch. They seemed annoyed that I showed up during lunch and would not let me in the shop at first. The bill was for nearly 8 hours of labor...bolt on parts. Fine, if done correctly. They handed me the alignment sheet... 3 degrees of negative camber. Not what we discussed. "Well camber doesn't really have that big of an impact on tire wear etc..." bullshiting me... Ok I guess we'll just have to get you back on the lift. Ok do I wait? I had to Uber... No we'll have to schedule you two months out to get it fixed. My car handled it very badly. The joints were very very loud. Now I expected some nvh but this was bad. They told me this was normal. It wasn't. I sent pictures to the SPL engineers which noted they installed the toe arms with too many spacers and had not fully threaded the bolts. Not good. They said I needed to take it back to be fixed. My son rides in this car. I take this car on a track. I call Northend, they tell me no can do. Good luck, see you next month. I drive my car very rarely for the next couple of weeks to get to work, but the knocking is really bad. So I decided to fix the bolts myself. The toe arm was simple, but then I decided to also check the torque... all wrong...super lose. Like 40ftlbs on the lower knuckle instead of 110ftlbs. Then I noticed the sway bar endlinks are hitting the control arms! These are very expensive parts just knocking on each other. I spent 4 hours fixing it. No more knocking, no more creaking, handles better... alignment still jacked up. The follow up appointment finally comes around. I tell them about the fixes and the control arm clearance issues. "Oops" is all they have to say. I print out and circle the alignment settings and make sure it's very clear this time. They call me back early and when I go to pick it up I notice the camber does look better. But...the alignment is still wrong. They tell me "that's the best we can do, the top plate is maxed out." There is like 20 degrees of adjustment you can do with this aftermarket setup. Again, bullshiting me to my face. At this point I just don't want them breaking my car anymore. So I leave. The alignment is 'fine enough' this time, but I still feel like I have to check their work to make sure the wheels don't come off. Lazy... just pushed the top plate to max and called it good. These guys come across as knowledgeable and maybe they are. But they do lazy work, are expensive, and treat their customers like shit.

This was my third experience using North End Wrench with the two unique vehicles I’ve brought to them. I feel obligated to share my thoughts. I absolutely love all these guys! I’m a gearhead myself and do a lot of my own work. I can’t say enough about the respect they give to someone who does and knows how things work with modern and classic vehicles. I highly recommend and appreciate the fact that they’re willing to take on challenging projects. 10 stars if I could check that box.

Went to the shop to find out information about drop off for a service. after stating what was wrong with the vehicle. I was informed on how to fix it myself if I didn’t want to wait to bring it in as they are booked 2 months out. Gentleman was attentive and informative as to things I should look into and possibly complete myself. If the shop is giving you the information free of charge, in my opinion they are honest business doing quality work at fair rate.

I'm not kidding when I say that this place is the kind of establishment that makes America great. I was referred by a friend and Dave and all his staff took super care of my old car. The car means a lot to me because I started working on it when I first was diagnosed with cancer many years ago. Overcome with other parts of life, as happens to all of us, my car fell into somewhat disrepair. The staff at Northend Wrench took my car in as if it were their own. It is now restored to a wonderful daily driver to create many more wonderful memories.
